A Guide to Testifying in Court

Client: PSNet, a Software as a Service (SaaS) company serving healthcare clients in the US

Role: Creative director, writer, editor, layout design

Tools: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office

Overview: The client wanted to produce a new lead generation document to drive web traffic and engage with its customers. This document focused on behavioral health employees who may be called upon to testify in court. My team and I interviewed subject matter experts, representatives of the legal system, and employees of multiple agencies who regularly testify in various courts.

Project Development

Research

I organized my team of writers and designers, assigning tasks and breaking out a schedule of one-on-one interviews with the client’s designated interviewees, which included lawyers, professional witnesses, and behavioral health employees experienced in the U.S. legal system.

After each interview, we reviewed the notes and consolidated the identified best practices, areas for focus, and information organization. While one writer drafted each section, I worked with my design team to create a functional layout that matches the brand personality and subject matter and generates curiosity in the reader to learn more.

Review and Finalization

We involved our client contact at each stage of development and invited comments and suggestions for improvement. The review and refinement process took approximately two weeks, after which I performed a one-voice edit for consistency and sent the document to the client to add to their marketing automation platform, website content library, and email promotional schedule.
