Client: Douglas County Healthy Youth Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Douglas County’s (Colorado) teens and youth.

Overview: The client needed to update one of its primary resources, the Pocket Resource Guide. The previous design was ineffective and inconsistent and the client wanted something more reflective of its organization, its goals, and its positive perspectives of the youth of Douglas County.

Douglas County Healthy Youth Coalition takes a unique approach to improve the health and well-being of the youth it serves. Non-judgmental, strengths-based approaches help youth see themselves through their strengths, not their economic situation or mental health struggles.

I wanted to provide a functional design reflecting DCHYC’s warm, positive view of the youths. I used a color palette that reflects that warmth and encourages parents and teens to review the resources and take advantage of them.
