Loss & Grief Resources Guide

Client: Child & Family Support Services

Role: Designer, editor, layout

Tools: Adobe Creative Suite, Rebrandly

Overview: The client worked with families and individuals dealing with loss, grief, and personal trauma. The company had a list of resources it wanted to share with its clients through its offices and frontline staff. However, they needed a clean, print-ready version that enabled people looking for online resources for dealing and processing personal loss and grief.

Original Resource

The client was accustomed to sharing the document below, with minimal UX elements facilitating easy access to these needed resources.

Final Design & Layout

In addition to some content editing and revisions, my team and I also developed a softer, more colorful layout and included QR codes that make accessing web resources easier. We included the original URLs to ensure the target audience knows they are accessing the right resource. However, we cleaned up the longer URLs to reduce unnecessary elements such as “www” and “https.”

Our design team also wanted to soften up the design and include warm, supportive colors and imagery. Life is difficult enough, particularly when dealing with loss and grief. We wanted the design to reflect a positive, encouraging sense of hope for those using this guide to find resources to deal with their pain.
